Helping You Make Informed Decisions

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We offer a wide range of investigative services designed to produce court-admissible evidence and provide clarity for our clients. If your specific request is not listed, feel free to contact us for a free consultation. We’ll evaluate your situation and determine whether we can take on your case.

  • Yes, a licensed private investigator can serve as a witness in your case. All evidence obtained is court-admissible and frequently used in legal proceedings.

  • No. When you retain J.I.S. Private Investigations, the fee covers the time, resources, and expertise dedicated to your case—whether or not actionable evidence is uncovered. Much of the work we do happens behind the scenes and is not always visible to clients. Upon being retained, we immediately begin case preparation, which includes:

    • Intake processing and secure documentation setup

    • Strategic planning and internal investigator briefings

    • Preliminary background checks and research

    • Scheduling and coordination of investigative resources

    • Administrative time allocation and client file management

    • Logistical planning to ensure operational readiness

As outlined in our contract, all funds are invested into your case. You will receive a detailed report of the work performed, regardless of outcome.

  • Yes. Confidentiality is a core part of our service. When you retain J.I.S. Private Investigations, your case is protected by a confidentiality clause outlined in our service agreement. We do not share or disclose any details of your case to outside parties unless required by law or subpoena. Even if your case proceeds to court, we only release information that is legally necessary and always with your awareness. Your privacy and trust are our top priorities.

  • We understand that hiring a private investigator often comes during stressful and emotionally charged situations. While it’s natural to want immediate results, it's important to know that much of our work happens behind the scenes before surveillance even begins. This includes detailed research, strategic planning, and coordinating resources to ensure the investigation is effective.

Our investigators are actively working—whether or not you receive frequent updates. Providing premature or incomplete information can lead to confusion or compromise the integrity of the case. Rest assured, you will receive timely updates when there is meaningful progress, and a full report will be provided at the conclusion of the investigation.

  • At J.I.S. Private Investigations, we want to be clear—hiring a private investigator does not guarantee that you’ll get the exact result you want. We are not magicians, and we cannot force someone to act a certain way or fabricate evidence that doesn’t exist. What we can promise is that we will apply our full effort, experience, and resources to pursue the truth—legally and ethically.

This work is not about shortcuts or instant gratification. It’s about doing things the right way, even when the outcome isn’t what you hoped for. We take your situation seriously and treat your case with the same urgency and care as if it were our own—but the outcome is ultimately based on real-world factors outside of our control.
